Panko Breaded Soft Crab Sandwich with Lemon Aioli

Ingredients

 

  • 2 Handy Seafood Panko Breaded Soft Shell Crabs (whales)
  • 2 brioche buns
  • Butter or mayonnaise (for toasting)
  • 2 lettuce leaves (green leaf, romaine, or butter lettuce work well)
  • 2 tomato slices
  • Lemon Aioli 

 

 

  1. Cook the Soft Shell Crabs: Following the instructions on the carton, cook the soft shell crabs. 
  2. Toast the Buns: While the crabs cook, lightly toast the brioche buns. You can do this by splitting them and buttering the inside before toasting in a skillet over medium heat, or toasting them cut-side down in a toaster oven. Alternatively, spread mayonnaise on the cut sides and toast for a richer flavor.
  3. Assemble the Sandwich: Spread a generous amount of lemon aioli on the bottom bun. Layer with lettuce, tomato, and then the crispy soft shell crab. Top with the other half of the bun and enjoy!

Lemon Aioli (Optional):

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice (freshly squeezed is best)
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • Pinch of salt
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste

In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, lemon juice, garlic, salt, and pepper. Taste and adjust seasonings as desired.
